Cyndi Lauper Song

The last 8 months of my life have gone by particularly fast. It doesn't seem too long ago when leaves started to turn brown, or even that much longer since people still headed out to beaches.

But it's weird to think how long it has been since those things happened. I mean, time is really a weird concept to try to put your head around, since it IS relative. What comes to mind when you say to yourself, "Where has the time gone?" You'd probably relate it to specific events that happened over the last little while, or extended periods of time when you've been doing certain things, but can never recollect every second of it.

There are a few things that really affect the way that you perceive time. Factoring things like however old you are, your outlook on life (positive or negative), the amount of repetition that goes throughout your day to day routine, and whether or not you really (for lack of a better term) stop to smell the roses. Each of these things significantly impacts all different senses of times, whether your thinking about the last couple months, or however long it's been since you did something of importance. Whether one makes it seem longer or shorter, it's for you to figure out.

With that, I say take advantage of these things. Whether you may be looking to bring about a goal faster, or slow down time so you can savour it, you should control how you feel and really love the fact that you're living it out. Time is precious. If you're in a good position, you'd never want your time to end. And if you don't feel this way, then you might want to think about why you don't.

"Know what's weird? Day by day, nothing seems to change. But pretty soon, everything's different." - Bill Watterson
